Welcome to Hack Arizona HackDay, a 7 hour in person mini hackathon designed to bring students together to build, learn, and innovate in a fast paced environment.

Best Use of the Google Gemini API
Participants are encouraged to build projects that meaningfully integrate the Gemini API into their solution. Whether it is building an intelligent chatbot, analyzing complex data, generating creative content, or enhancing user experience with AI powered features, we want to see thoughtful and impactful use of Gemini.
Projects will be judged based on:

This is a beginner friendly event and open to all skill levels. You may work solo or in teams.

Brainstorm a project idea that incorporates the Gemini API.

Start building at 10:30 AM.

Submit your project on Devpost before 3:30 PM.
Make sure your project clearly demonstrates how you used the Gemini API.
Requirements
Build a working prototype that integrates the Google Gemini API as a core component of your solution.
Your project can be:

Any creative technical solution
The key requirement is that Gemini API is actively used in the functionality of your project.

Judging Criteria

Google Gemini API Integration
How effectively and meaningfully does the project integrate the Google Gemini API into its core functionality? Judges will look for depth of integration, proper API usage (not just browser prompts), and how central Gemini is to the solution. -
Real-World Problem Solving
Does the project address a meaningful real-world problem? Judges will evaluate clarity of the problem statement, relevance, and potential real-world impact or usefulness. -
Creativity & Innovation
How unique and original is the solution? Judges will consider the novelty of the idea, creative application of Gemini, and whether the project presents a fresh or unexpected approach. -
Execution & Functionality
How well is the project built and executed? Judges will assess functionality, technical completeness, user experience, and overall polish of the implementation. -
Presentation Quality
How clearly and effectively does the team communicate their project? Judges will evaluate clarity of the demo, explanation of Gemini usage, and ability to answer questions. -
Tie-Breaker Criteria
If needed, judges may consider how ready the project is for real users, including completeness, scalability, and practical viability.
